Vijaypat Singhania, the former chairman of the renowned Raymond Group, has publically denied any sort of reconciliation with his son Gautam Singhania. This clarification follows a recent social media post by Gautam, the current head of the textile group, displaying an image with his father that led to speculation about the two settling their long-standing conflict. The caption accompanying the photo expressed Gautam’s happiness at having his father home and his wishes for his health. However, Vijaypat has cast doubts over the intent behind this overture, describing the occasion as a planned setup to portray a false image of reconciliation to the public.

Vijaypat has recounted how he received a call from his son’s assistant on March 20, insisting on his visit to JK House, the family’s residence. Although he initially refused, Gautam himself appeared in the call and requested his father’s presence for a short coffee meeting, which Vijaypat attended albeit with reluctance. Following the meeting, the internet was buzzing with claims of their mended relationship, which Vijaypat has since strongly refuted. He stated that this first visit in a decade to JK House was not to bridge their differences, and he has no intentions to return.

The father-son duo’s relationship deteriorated following a change of guard at Raymond Group in 2015 when Vijaypat passed on the leadership to Gautam and stepped down. Distinctive moments of discord include Vijaypat’s accusations in 2017 of being denied rightful property and his ousting from the role of Chairman Emeritus in 2018. In the face of this recent media speculation, Vijaypat Singhania remains steadfast in denying any reconciliation with his son, emphasizing that their longstanding issues remain unresolved.
