A tidal wave of spirituality swept through the ancient city of Ayodhya as devotees from every corner of the nation flocked to witness the historic moment when the Ram Temple opened its doors to the public. The sacred chants of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ resounded through the streets, echoing the grandeur of the Treta Yug, an era when Lord Ram walked the earth. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, remarking on the momentous occasion, felt that Ayodhya had transcended into a divine purity akin to the blissful days of Lord Ram’s return to the city during the Treta Yug.

The devotees’ outpouring of faith was seen as a living testament to the love and reverence for Ram Lalla. The ceremony known as Pran Pratishtha, conducted on Monday, was not only a ritual to consecrate the idol but symbolized the dawn of Ram Rajya—an age of equality, harmony, and compassion. Despite the overwhelming turnout, with an administration unprepared for the sheer numbers that spanned a 13-km stretch, the devotees remained patient. Law enforcement ensured the orderly movement, reflecting the peaceful atmosphere during the sacred opening hours from 7 am to 11:30 am and then from 2 pm to 7 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who presided over the consecration ceremony, was deeply moved by the occasion. His awe was evident as he took to the microblogging site to express his privilege in participating in such a ‘divine programme’. The Prime Minister, among other dignitaries like Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, prostrated before the idol in reverence. A gathering of nearly 8,000 attendees, including spiritual leaders and influential personalities, was captivated by the Prime Minister’s speech, which called for unity and reflected on the peaceful essence of the Ram Temple—a symbol not of triumph but humility and the resilience of India in resolving historical disputes, emphasizing Ram as an embodiment of energy and peace.
