The commencement of the Uttar Pradesh Board examinations marked a significant day for education in the state as 55.2 lakh students started their exams promptly at 8:30 am. The unparalleled security arrangements showcased the resolve to conduct a fair examination process, characterized by the deployment of 2.90 lakh CCTV cameras in approximately 1.35 lakh examination rooms.

On this noteworthy day, 29.5 lakh candidates began their Class 10 journey with papers in Hindi and Commerce. Parallelly, Class 12 students geared up for Military Sciences and Hindi. The examinations are being organized in two sessions each day, promising a structured and secure evaluation for both secondary and higher secondary education seekers. An incredible team comprising 2.75 lakh invigilators oversees the procedure, equipped with contemporary tools like digital voice recorders, routers, and robust internet connections to support the integrity of the examination process.

The UP Board has left no stone unturned to protect the sanctity of the exams. With the implementation of QR codes and distinctive board logos within the answer sheets, the measures to prevent malpractice reach new heights. The identification of 776 sensitive and 275 highly-sensitive centers, coupled with the vigilant eyes of the Special Task Force and Local Intelligence Unit, unfurl a comprehensive security blanket over the exams. The UP Board’s proactiveness extends to the identification of 16 districts as highly sensitive, taking comprehensive measures to mitigate any disturbances. In a unique aspect of inclusivity, 257 inmates from various prisons have joined their peers outside to participate in these exams.

Deepak Kumar, additional chief secretary of secondary education, in a press briefing, highlighted that 29,47,311 high school and 25,77,997 intermediate students across 75 districts of the state are taking part in these exams. Upholding the significant participation of girls, 13,76,127 female students for high school and 11,49,674 for intermediate levels represent the dynamic gender demographics of the ambitious examinees this year. These efforts towards education and fairness are a reflection of the UP Board’s commitment to fostering a secure and inclusive environment that allows every student an equal opportunity to showcase their academic potential.
