The four-day Himachal Utsav was inaugurated at Sanskriti Sadan in the Mandi district, HP on Monday by Congress MLA from Dharampur, Chander Shekhar. The MLA said that the event was organized every year to promote and spread the local culture and art. He stated that the folk artists have greatly contributed to preserving the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, and that the youth should come forward to keep this legacy alive. He further said that the Department of Language and Culture has provided a great platform for the artistes to showcase their talent.

He also mentioned that Mandi is the cultural capital of the state and that the government has been making efforts to preserve the cultural heritage and bring the artistes to the forefront. At the same time, through exhibitions, those people are being given a chance to show their talent, who do not get this opportunity.

The four-day event will feature performances from artists from all four districts of the state, and give those who do not get the opportunity to showcase their talent a platform to do so. This year, a new platform of digital media has been provided to the artists to showcase their talent.

The MLA said that the true identity of an artist lies in their dedication towards entertaining people, despite their own struggles.
