With the rally planned by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) and Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), the Noida Police have taken preemptive measures by issuing a traffic advisory for commuters near the Delhi-Noida border area. Their advisories include alternative routes to avoid the congestion expected due to the tractor march. The BKU intends to parade tractors from Mehndipur in Rabupura to Falaida along the Yamuna Expressway. The police, ensuring the security of the march, have ordered Section 144, mainly to keep the area under control and have strategically stationed personnel at important junctures around Delhi and Noida.

Vehicles seeking entry into Delhi from Noida have been given specified instructions to follow different paths, like using the Sector 14A flyover via Sector-15 for those coming from Chilla border or taking the elevated route via Film City for traffic from DND border. Those approaching from Kalindi border can use the Mahamaya Flyover via Sector 37. Additionally, the Noida Police have recommended using metro services and alternate routes for those traveling on Yamuna Expressway. A restriction on goods vehicles is also in place with suggested detours.

The advisory comes parallel to the movements of other farmer groups like BKU Tikait and BKU LokShakti who are pressing for a law to guarantee a minimum support price (MSP). These groups have announced their intent to conduct tractor marches from Greater Noida towards the Noida-Delhi border. Their plan includes assembling tractors in Greater Noida and moving towards Noida’s Chilla border via the Yamuna Expressway, as mentioned by the president of BKU Tikait, Pawan Khatana. This development is in conjunction with SKM’s announcement of ‘Quit WTO Day’ in demand to keep agriculture outside the purview of the World Trade Organization.

Notably, academic exams for class X and XII are set to take place, which could be affected by the protests and marches. DCP (traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav has been informed about the proposed protests and mentioned that appropriate arrangements would be made subsequent to receiving detailed information of the farmers’ plans.
