Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a prominent journey visiting Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh to launch a series of significant development initiatives. Kicking off his tour at the renowned Kaziranga National Park in Assam, the Prime Minister then moved to partake in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit North East’ program in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. An agenda highlight was inaugurating the strategic ‘Sela Tunnel’ and revealing the intended ‘UNNATI scheme’, an ambitious project with an approximated value of ₹10,000 crore.

The Prime Minister has a packed schedule aimed at enhancing various sectors including health, infrastructure, and education across these states. In Assam, he is to unveil a monumental 84-foot statue of Lachit Borphukan and announce the commencement of various developmental projects for the upliftment of health, oil and gas, railways, and housing sectors. In Arunachal Pradesh, Modi is expected to commence and dedicate multiple projects with an investment crossing ₹41,000 crores. His itinerary also includes inaugurating numerous projects in the railway and road sectors in West Bengal, with a collective investment of more than ₹4,500 crore, and in Uttar Pradesh, where he is set to inaugurate projects totalling over ₹42,000 crore.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi took an elephant safari at Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials. Following the safari, Modi took to social media to share his experience at the UNESCO World Heritage site, emphasizing its rich biodiversity. Coming to the state on a two-day visit, he is also to unveil the ‘Statue of Valour’ of the legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan in Jorhat and lay foundation stones of several projects worth around Rs 18,000 crore, wrapping up the day with a public address in Jorhat district.
