Prime Minister Narendra Modi orchestrated an intensive day-long conclave with his Council of Ministers on March 3 in New Delhi, meticulously diving into a vision document poised to shape India’s transformative journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat: 2047’, alongside a tactical five-year action plan. The gathering saw ministers lay out progress reports and forthcoming strategies.

The ambitious ‘Viksit Bharat: 2047’ agenda sprang from over two years of rigorous groundwork led by the Centre’s think tank, Niti Aayog. The comprehensive planning included inputs from 20 lakh youths, gleaned through more than 2700 events, as ministries aimed to propel India onto a trajectory of sustainable development, economic vitality, infrastructure advancement, and societal welfare.

Amidst this future-focused blueprint, Modi also enforced the need to reshape the nation’s budgets and streamline bureaucratic structures to meet the Viksit Bharat mandate. Meanwhile, the newly formed Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, with leaders like Rahul Gandhi, stirred the political cauldron in Patna, issuing a stark warning to topple the ruling BJP in the upcoming elections. On another significant note, the Supreme Court delivered a poignant reminder of the weight of legal processes while absolving an individual of abetment charges laid against them decades prior. In matters of international relations, S Jaishankar made a firm rebuttal to accusations of India’s assertiveness, referencing a substantial aid package to the Maldives. And in a strategic military development, the Indian Navy is poised to commission its first squadron of MH-60R Seahawk helicopters in Kochi as a boost to its warfare and surveillance capabilities.
