Hyderabad’s landscape is poised for a transformative development as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid out an extensive urban growth plan focused on extending HMDA limits to incorporate the Regional Ring Road (RRR) into the fold of the city’s rapid expansion. With a vision to bolster connectivity and infrastructure, Revanth Reddy underscored the need for radial roads bridging the ORR with RRR, while also addressing the planning requirements necessary for the peri-urban municipalities to thrive alongside the core urban area.

During a pivotal review meeting, Revanth Reddy directed officials to commission a consultant for crafting the Master Plan-2050 for Hyderabad, a blueprint set to integrate areas within the ORR. Waterbody preservation, land-pooling acceleration, and robust land protection mechanisms were equally emphasized, with digital mapping and dedicated IPS officers earmarked for safeguarding HMDA lands. Reinforcing economic sustainability, the Chief Minister called for maximizing HMDA income streams through land utility and innovative advertisement strategies.

Revanth Reddy’s blueprint extends beyond infrastructure, envisioning Hussainsagar’s environs as a tourist hotspot replete with world-class amenities. He envisaged a leisure and entertainment stretch running from Ambedkar statue to Indira Park, proposing a transformation that includes a sky walkway, amusement zones, and a vehicular traffic ban to foster a vibrant tourism landscape modeled after Dubai’s illustrious projects. The session saw participation from key officials, indicating a collective effort to translate these initiatives into reality.

In tandem with these development endeavors, Revanth Reddy also took strict cognizance of the discrepancies in the leasing processes for the ORR. Discontent with the potential financial setbacks inflicted on the state exchequer by sub-par lease rates, he has ordered an in-depth investigation to pinpoint and rectify the anomalies. Amid troubling revelations of substantial potential revenue loss, he is determined to shed light on the procedural lapses and questionable file movements that characterized the tender process, facilitated by HMDA.

The inquiry’s breadth will encompass the probing of the firm’s post-tender share allocation to foreign entities, reflecting a meticulous approach to safeguard public resources. With a firm directive to assemble a tell-all report on the questionable lease arrangements and the subsequent action to involve top-tier investigative agencies, Revanth Reddy’s decisive actions exhibit an unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability within governmental operations.
